Brandon Overton Rules Gauntlet Prelim at Volunteer Speedway

Earns $10,000 for Seventh Win of 2026

EVANS, Ga. (April 18, 2026) — Brandon Overton added to his win total this past week, capturing a preliminary victory during “The Gauntlet” at Vic Hill’s Volunteer Speedway.

The Evans, Georgia native led flag-to-flag in Wednesday’s feature, outrunning Benji Hicks to secure the $10,000 payday and his seventh win of the 2026 season.

"I knew getting into (turn) one on that start was gonna be real critical. So, thanks to (carburetor builder) Randy Clary and Clements Engines, we got a good takeoff. And I just tried to maintain. I seen (Jonathan Davenport) pull to the infield and I'm like, 'All right, so just, just stay calm.' He's been fast as hell since we unloaded over here," Overton said adding later that "I am not good here. So to finally win one, we changed everything on our car today, and it obviously paid off."

Overton’s week began with a 10th-place finish in Tuesday’s opener before rebounding in Wednesday’s program. He set fast time in his group, won his heat race, and rolled off from the outside front row before cruising to the 40-lap victory.

Following Thursday’s scheduled off day, Overton capped the week with a third-place finish on Friday and a fourth-place result in Saturday’s $30,000-to-win Gauntlet finale.

Overton and the Riggs Motorsports team now turn their attention to a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tripleheader, with upcoming stops at Georgetown Speedway (DE), BAPS Motor Speedway (PA), and Hagerstown Speedway (MD) from Friday through Sunday.
