Overton salvages 10th-place finish in National 100 at EAMS
Seeking his third consecutive National 100 triumph, Brandon Overton entered the Wells Motorsports No. 76 Late Model at East Alabama Motor Speedway (Phenix City, Ala.) on Saturday for the 49th running of the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series sancitoned weekend.
With prelims on Saturday setting the stage for Sunday’s main event, Overton topped his 20-car time trial group before picking up a 10-lap victory in his heat over Dalton Cook.
Starting Sunday’s $49,000-to-win National 100 in third via the redraw, Brandon ran as high as second but surrendered fourth on lap 91 due to a flat right-rear tire. He salvaged a 10th-place finish from the tail in the final nine circuits.
