Brandon Overton adds a trio of top-fives in Knoxville Nationals
Back on the road with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS), Wells Motorsports and Brandon Overton invaded the immaculate Knoxville Raceway (Knoxville, Iowa) on Thursday afternoon to kick off the 19th annual Knoxville Nationals with a pair of prelims.
Following a fourth-place showing in his heat, Overton started the opening night preliminary feature in 11th and charge forward eight spots to place third.
On Friday, Brandon’s fourth-place finish in his heat positioned him on the fourth row for the final $7,000-to-win preliminary feature. Along with another top-five finish with a fourth-place run, Overton’s preliminary results locked him into the Saturday’s finale.
Starting the $50,000-to-win Knoxville Nationals A-Main in sixth, Overton clawed forward one spot in the 75-lap affair to cap off the weekend with three consecutive top-five finishes. He followed Ricky Thornton Jr., Mike Marlar, Hudson O’Neal, and Jonathan Davenport across the line.
Brandon remains fourth in the latest LOLMDS point standings.
