Top-10 finish in Kyle Larson Late Model Challenge at Bulls Gap
Brandon Overton invaded Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Thursday afternoon with Kyle Busch joining him as teammate alongside his Wells Motorsports No. 76 entry for the Kyle Larson Late Model Challenge.
Amassing 44 Late Models for the second annual event, Overton squeezed into the $20,000-to-win A-Main with the fourth-and-final transfer spot in his heat race. Starting in 14th, Brandon gained four spots in the 50-lap affair to register a 10th-place finish.
Kyle started the feature in 23rd via provisional and advanced forward to finish 16th.
The following night at All-Tech Raceway (Lake City, Fla.) for the Hunt the Front Super Dirt Series inaugural event, Brandon claimed $500 for topping the 40-car field in time trials before placing first in his heat. With $20,000 on the line in the Southbound Throwdown feature, Overton pulled pitside during a lap-22 restart after contact with a lapped car damaged his left-front flopper.
